Cosima Regina Federle wurde 2002 in Regensburg geboren und erhielt ihren ersten Cellounterricht im Alter von 4 Jahren. Ab 2010 war sie Jungstudentin der Bayrischen Frühförderklasse, Regensburg bei Wolfgang Nüsslein, von 2015 bis 2019 erhielt sie Unterricht bei Hanno Simons in München.
Ab 2019 studierte sie als Jungstudentin und von 2020 bis 2023 als Vollstudentin an der Hochschule für Musik und Theater „Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy“, Leipzig bei Prof. Peter Bruns.
Im Herbst 2023 setzte sie ihr Studium an der „Universität der Künste“, Berlin bei Prof. Jens-Peter Maintz fort.
Weitere musikalische Anregungen erhielt sie bei Meisterkursen u.a. von Frans Helmerson, Wolfgang Boettcher, Wen-Sinn Yang, Laszlo Fenyö, Jan Vogler, Natalia Gutman, Kian Soltani, Maximilian Hornung, Mischa Maisky und Alfred Brendl.

Sie gewann zahlreiche Preise und Sonderpreise in nationalen und internationalen Wettbewerben, zuletzt den 1. Preis beim Domenico-Gabrielli- Violoncello Wettbewerb, Berlin, den 1. Preis beim Lions Wettbewerb in Regensburg, einen 2. Preis im „International Grunewald Competition“, Berlin, einen 3. Preis und den Sonderpreis für die beste Interpretation des Pflichtwerkes, beim „International Klaipėda David Geringas Cello Competition“ in Litauen, 2023 , einen 2. Preis beim “Concours International de Tremplin, Paris", 2021, einen 1. Preis beim „Làszlò Spezzaferri International Music Competition“, Verona, 2020, einen 2. Preis beim „International David Popper Competition“ in Varpalota, Ungarn, 2019, und einen 1. Preis beim Internationalen Dotzauer Wettbewerb in Dresden, 2017.

2023 erhielt sie ein Stipendium des Deutschen Musikwettbewerbs und wurde damit in die Konzertförderung des Deutschen Musikrats aufgenommen. Seitdem spielt sie mit dem „2Cities Celloquartett“ und dem „Axylia Trio“ eine Reihe von Konzerten in ganz Deutschland, in der Saison 2022/23 konzertierte sie bereits mit ihrem Klaviertrio „Trio Poème“. Außerdem wurde sie mit dem Musikpreis der Stadt Regensburg, einem Sonderpreis der Harald Genzmer Stiftung und einem Sonderpreis der Bundesapothekenkammer ausgezeichnet. 

2013 wurde „Jugend musiziert - der Film“ mit ihr und ihrem Bruder als Hauptdarsteller gedreht und in verschiedenen Fernsehsendern ausgestrahlt.

Cosima ist Stipendiatin der Deutschen Stiftung Musikleben, der Internationalen Musikakademie Liechtenstein und erhielt weitere Stipendien von der „Geneva International String Academy“, von „Musique à Flaine“, Frankreich, der Hildegard Schmalzl Stiftung, Regensburg und von den Dresdner Musikfestspielen. Von 2017-2021 wurde sie jährlich als Stipendiatin des Projekts „Meisterschüler-Meister“ in Schloss Neuhardenberg bei Jan Vogler ausgewählt. Sie spielte bereits mit Künstlern wie Alice-Sara Ott, Kian Soltani, Adiren la Marca, Marc Bouchkov und Boris Kusnezow.

Im Sommer 2024 wurde Cosima als Stipendiatin in das Förderprogramm von Villa Musica aufgenommen.

Sie trat bei Festivals auf, wie mehrmals bei dem „Schleswig-Holstein Musikfestival“, „Musique en Été" in Genf, den Dresdner Musikfestspielen und Festival Momentum, Stolberg und war mit Solo- und Kammermusikkonzerten in Sälen, wie der Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, der Philharmonie Berlin, dem Stadtcasino Basel oder dem Gewandhaus Leipzig, zu hören.
Außerdem spielte sie mehrere Aufnahmen beim Genuin-Label, beim Bayrischen Rundfunk, beim Deutschlandfunk, beim Norddeutschen Rundfunk und beim Rundfunk Berlin-Brandenburg ein. 

Cosima spielt seit 2020 ein Violoncello von Nicolas Lupot, Paris 1821, das ihr von der Deutschen Stiftung Musikleben zur Verfügung gestellt wird.

Cosima Regina Federle was born in 2002 in Regensburg and received her first cello lessons at the age of four. From 2010 she was a junior student in the Bavarian Early Promotion Class (Bayerische Frühförderklasse) in Regensburg, studying with Wolfgang Nüsslein. From 2015 to 2019 she continued her studies with Hanno Simons in Munich.
From 2019 she studied as a junior student, and from 2020 to 2023 as a full-time student, at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater “Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy” in Leipzig with Prof. Peter Bruns. In autumn 2023, she continued her studies at the Berlin University of the Arts (Universität der Künste Berlin) with Prof. Jens-Peter Maintz.
She has received further artistic inspiration through masterclasses with, among others, Frans Helmerson, Wolfgang Boettcher, Wen-Sinn Yang, László Fenyő, Jan Vogler, Natalia Gutman, Kian Soltani, Maximilian Hornung, Mischa Maisky, and Alfred Brendel.
Cosima has won numerous prizes and special awards in national and international competitions. Most recently, she received a First Prize at the Domenico Gabrielli Cello Competition in Berlin, a First Prize at the Lions Competition in Regensburg, a Second Prize at the International Grunewald Competition in Berlin, and a Third Prize as well as the Special Prize for the Best Interpretation of the Set Piece at the International Klaipėda David Geringas Cello Competition in Lithuania in 2023. Further distinctions include a Second Prize at the Concours International de Tremplin in Paris (2021), a First Prize at the László Spezzaferri International Music Competition in Verona (2020), a Second Prize at the International David Popper Competition in Várpalota, Hungary (2019), and a First Prize at the International Dotzauer Competition in Dresden (2017).
In 2023 she was awarded a scholarship from the German Music Competition (Deutscher Musikwettbewerb) and was subsequently admitted to the concert promotion programme of the German Music Council (Deutscher Musikrat). Since then, she has performed numerous concerts throughout Germany with the 2Cities Cello Quartet and the Axylia Trio. During the 2022/23 season, she had already toured with her piano trio Trio Poème. She has also been honored with the Music Prize of the City of Regensburg, a special prize from the Harald Genzmer Foundation, and a special prize from the German Federal Chamber of Pharmacists (Bundesapothekerkammer).
In 2013, the film “Jugend musiziert – der Film” was produced featuring Cosima and her brother in the leading roles and was broadcast on several television channels.
Cosima is a scholarship holder of the German Foundation for Musical Life (Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben) and the International Music Academy in Liechtenstein. She has received additional scholarships from the Geneva International String Academy, Musique à Flaine (France), the Hildegard Schmalzl Foundation in Regensburg, and the Dresden Music Festival. From 2017 to 2021, she was selected annually as a scholarship holder of the “Meisterschüler–Meister” programme at Schloss Neuhardenberg, studying with Jan Vogler. She has performed with artists such as Alice Sara Ott, Kian Soltani, Adrien La Marca, Marc Bouchkov, and Boris Kusnezow.
In summer 2024, Cosima was admitted as a scholarship holder to the Villa Musica sponsorship programme.
She has appeared at festivals including the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival (on several occasions), Musique en Été in Geneva, the Dresden Music Festival, and Festival Momentum in Stolberg. She has given solo and chamber music concerts in renowned venues such as the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, the Berlin Philharmonie, the Stadtcasino Basel, and the Gewandhaus Leipzig.
In addition, she has made several recordings for the Genuin label as well as for Bavarian Broadcasting (Bayerischer Rundfunk), Deutschlandfunk, Norddeutscher Rundfunk, and Rundfunk Berlin-Brandenburg.
Since 2020, Cosima has been playing a cello by Nicolas Lupot (Paris, 1821), generously provided to her by the German Foundation for Musical Life.
